Armor Prototyping

Started using cardboard to prototype the armor.  Debating on whether to use Aluminum flashing or Corrugated Plastic.

 Adding a door.  Its a-door-able!!!

Some Pauldrons and a head (with a webcam inside!).  Also had some fun with stencils trying out the anagram of "M.E.C.H.A." (Mechanical Exoskeleton Chassis Humanoid Augmentation)

Basic Frame

After some jiggling I busted out out something nifty:

The elbow control system doesn't allow for a lot of shoulder motion, so I'm considering using bowden cables instead.

The ankles bend using friction between the PVC & wood bits to mediate unwanted motion.

Statement of Goals.

Skeletronics and Sawagawa Electronics have a nifty exoskeleton, but the price is in the range of many thousands of dollars.  The goal of Green Mountain Mech works is to create giant robots in a manner that is friendly not only to the consumer's pocketbook, but for maintenance as well.
